My Abstract Fruit Bowl on Burlap Painting

Let me preface this by saying I love burlap and the things you can do with it. I was thinking the last couple weeks about using burlap and couldn't think of anything to use on it. I didn't want to follow any tutorials or anything but then I saw my back wall in my room where I had a bundle of burlap next to my abstract expressive emotional painting I did about a month ago. I was completely inspired by the way I just emotionally created the painting and just let the emotions guide my painting so I got out a sheet of burlap I had and just started making loose strokes on the page in red paint not really expecting anything. I started on another sheet with the red stroked burlap sitting right next to it. I had an idea because I had been playing with paint so the first thing I did was complete the second painting with bubbles and flowers and just girly things while letting the ideas dance in my head as to what I wanted to do with the red stroked burlap. Then, I had my aha! moment because there were two short red paintstrokes running horizontal and in my head I was just imagining this fruitbowl so I started playing with colors and the first colors I laid down were rather muddy because I had been mixing the blue and red and yellow all together. I had different shades from mixing and was just envisioning how I wanted it all to look as I was playing with and mixing the colors. The fruit base was my start and then I finished painting where I saw the outline for the fruit bowl. Then the table. I went back and finished the fruit with fresher colors like yellow because I didn't want muddied bananas. Yuck! The background was just something I kinda winged. I honestly started out wanting to just keep it bare because there were some interesting marks to start off with but I couldn't resist the urge to paint the background various colors and to continue to play with depths of colors. Still not sure how I feel about the background but I worked really hard on not over doing it since my first instinct told me not to paint too much of it. I still wonder if I'm finished with it because I'm still tempted to play with the background more.
