The witch in the beret...

I decided on a beret because whenever you hear about artists you always hear about France and wearing a beret like Madeleine in that cartoon. Maybe it was that cartoon orphan Madeleine? She convinced me to love France! That's an interesting realization. Never knew why I was so obsessed with France but that would make sense. Maybe that's why?
Anyhow, when I was in high school, I took a couple French classes and I've just always wanted to go. Something about the language and just a great fascination with the country.  I have a screensaver on my phone of a France event screenshot I took off a video. Between the Seine river and the Eiffel tower and the Louvre and like I said the language. It all fascinates me. Even the culture. I'm sure having a French teacher, in high school, who spoke highly of the country and culture just adds to it. From repeating all the words to myself after classes (out of both pure interest and necessity) I often randomly start speaking French to myself now. I just didn't want to forget the lovely language. I definitely am a little rusty, but I love the language and how it rolls off your tongue! The sounds of it. Just hope my work takes me there someday. Apparently this blog is just as much about my obsession with France as it the pumpkin. Back to our scheduled discussion. ..
I just thought it'd be so cool to give the pumpkin a beret to represent the strong art culture there and my love for it. To make it spookier, I added cobwebs, because it is a witch, after all.
The black pen ran out of ink, but if you ask me it's for the best because look at the red marker on there. Practically screams Halloween! 👻
I'm going to be adding more colors and painting it but what a lovely base to start the project!
While you're here, go check out my designs on my shop page! It's integrated with Spreadshirt, but at least you won't have to go far! Just a click away! I'll be doing some Thanksgiving & holiday shirts! Going to be uploading those shortly. I have ideas for holiday cards & tshirts & fun mixed media stuff for Thanksgiving! So check back for those in the coming weeks! :) Or you can subscribe through either Google or the mailing list!
