Quirky Heartmade

Looking through my supplies for inspiration and ideas for my next Halloween mixed media project and I came across this quirky combination. It morphs cute and quirky and spooky all in one! A little bad to the bone with the skulls don't you think?  I have been loving the color pink lately and as always I have a love interest in bright colors! I bought the tape recently at a nearby print shop because it is just so multifunctional. The one with quotes on the left is so inspirational and fun. I felt like it added the perfect punch for Halloween with the oranges and greens and the black backgrounds of each make them complementary, especially since the inspirational one has a bit of a punch-y vibe to it with those throwback colors. Can't wait to show you what I make with it! :-D :-P That will happen sometime this week! I even have another digital download coming up so stay tuned! It's kinda spooky and gory! I was online looking at different contests trying to come up with a theme for a new art piece & I stumbled upon one for Valentine's Day that was limited to the colors pink, red, white & black. (The background is a peach color even though the light makes it look more orange-y than it is.) I felt like a girly, psychedelic make-up like piece would fit the theme perfectly so this piece popped into my head inspired by my favorite 70s artist, Peter max. He has a wonderful use of bright colors & pattern motifs. Google him if you ever get a chance!
