Quirky Heartmade

I saw other people blog their art and realized...Well duh, my blog is called Quirky Heartmade for a reason. I should put up some of my recent Etsy shop posts. I have always been fascinated by the texture of brick walls and the bumpy appearance and the way the paint on the bricks can sometimes appear "sloppy", which is why I painted very loose and roughly. I went over the purple paint with gold, metallic marker. It is framed without glass because I find it really interesting to have it bare, to show the raw textures . I imagined it hanging on a plain, one color wall so that it appears like there is a patch of brick wall showing through. I thoroughly coated the artwork in protective, glossy sealer. I started out by drawing something cute and before I knew it my cute illustration had got really spooky and scary! I'm a little frightened by my illustration, which means it is Halloween approved! Full of ghosts and evil spirits running amuck. Inside the screaming ghost's mouth there are other spirits and a pumpkin. I used an Illustrator (digital design program) brush to create the swirling eyes and splatter effect. There are pumpkins floating in the background and a fire breaking out just behind the ghost. Halloween Creepy Crawler Imagine it!  A dream catcher filled with Halloween bugs and candy. So gross sounding, I know. Cool! That was my inspiration for one of my latest drawings  and Halloween downloads. I decided to add spider webs, because what Halloween scene with spiders is complete without long spindles of hair-like spider webs weaving across with spiders trapped in the web. Spiders crawling all across, shooting out more spindles and making their nest. Flies with huge eyes soaring away. Evil bats ready to fly towards the viewer. I loved creating this art piece. Hope you like using it for your screensavers and personal use. Only 8.5x11 as original dimensions but it stretches perfectly onto my 15.6" laptop screen.
