Latest Etsy Shop Creations...

I saw other people blog their art and realized...Well duh, my blog is called Quirky Heartmade for a reason. I should put up some of my recent Etsy shop posts. My Etsy Shop: quirkyheartmade.etsy.com
This painting is my own personal take on the grunge style. I have always been fascinated by the texture of brick walls and the bumpy appearance and the way the paint on the bricks can sometimes appear "sloppy", which is why I painted very loose and roughly. I went over the purple paint with gold, metallic marker. It is framed without glass because I find it really interesting to have it bare, to show the raw textures. I imagined it hanging on a plain, one color wall so that it appears like there is a patch of brick wall showing through. I thoroughly coated the artwork in protective, glossy sealer. I know a lot of people have their thoughts about no glass, but there are many canvases that work similarly. Canvases aren't always framed.

This painting is called "Raining Happiness", because not all rain should be negative. Like that saying "Raining on your parade." Rain brings a lot of good things like flowers and plants and trees. In favor of the happiness, I painted some polka dots. I love polka dot patterns, because of their playfulness. Just so cute! Especially when you add lots of color.

As you can read on my "About Me" I love color and texture, which is what a lot of artists strive for in a way. However, I really want to emphasize that in my art through all sorts of mediums. I have really been into painting lately. It's really fun and you can create so many unique designs through painting. I have been experimenting with some new ideas, as well. Something completely...I don't want to say original, because I'm sure in some way it's been done before, but it's really personal and different. It's something that I worked hard on creating in my own style and I don't feel like it is done nearly as often as you would think. There's like a story behind my thought process on it. It's just really cool. That will be here hopefully before January. I hope to have a good set of them, so that I can show them off and explain why they're so important.
There's also a video up on my YouTube channel about confidence and what gives me confidence as an artist. The video touches on some ideas I have in my upcoming blog post, which I should be publishing within the next week.
