Discovering the Next Pinterest-worthy Art Tool

Image
What was my favorite random object to create with? In my *RANDOM OBJECT: Painting* challenge video, I discovered the straw was better than I gave it credit. Definitely will try painting with craft feathers now. The craft feathers are now my favorite craft object for more than just their cute, fluffiness. They create such an interesting pattern and texture, PLUS... I can incorporate the feather into the painting. How cool is that? Now there's a huge plus, incorporating the medium into the art. Something fun and creative to do. Almost like the crayon art concept that is popular. The scissors weren't bad for creating those interesting teardrop shapes, either. I guess it all depends on what kind of shapes and textures you're going for and what you got handy. What was your favorite random object to paint with? Did it give you any ideas? Hope it was  inspirational to try new things and explore art outside the box. Who knows? It might give you the next pinterest worthy craft in

Random Painting Objects: Pt 1

Image
The contenders in the fight for best weird, random object to paint with are: The spoon weighing in at less than a pound, with a rounded head and thin handle The straw weighing in at a couple ounces as a cylindrical object The whisk weighing heavier than the straw but lighter than the spoon. A common household object for many! Let's hear it for the whisk. Might be perfect for making batter but how will it do with painting a masterpiece? Scissors, a very formidable opponent. No stranger to the crafting scene but can it paint? Light as a feather because it is one! Brightly colored and small in size, nowadays it's used often in crafts but in olden days was used for a very similar purpose. How will it work here? Watch the video to see how these opponents throw down the paint!

Part 2: Nature Landscape (Getting Chilled)

Image
Brrr! It's getting cold! Walking home from the store I saw such beautiful nature & landscape scenes. I think this will be part 2 of my nature posts. I felt silly and awkward dropping my bags constantly to take pictures of people's yards, but there is such inspirational landscaping around here. No photos of houses, out of respect for other's personal property. I just enjoy the inspiration I get from various places of landscape and nature. Nothing shows the approaching like evergreen firs. Once November is here, there is no denying the winter season and Christmas is on its way.  I call this one the DINOSAUR LEAF because it was so GINORMOUS compared to the others, which means it probably came from a tree that was over 100 years old. For trees, that's an amazingly long history.  I love long blades of grass. The leafs strewn across.  Wildflowers are beautiful and can show the winter approaching.  A couple days after writing this, the fateful &qu

This time I made potato chips, because it is my favorite combo! Which is better to eat with Nutella? Bagged or baked potato chips with Nutella? I challenge that in my latest video. Was it good? Which did I prefer? So many questions!!!!!! ♥  Potato Chip Recipe: Ingredients: Knife/ Vegetable Peeler 3-4 Potatoes Vegetable Oil Baking Cookie Sheet Aluminum Foil (Optional) Nutella (dip/optional) Preheat oven to 350 F.
